Lines Ahead is a turn-based strategy puzzle where incoming signals appear on the grid before they spawn. See what comes next, protect your paths, and plan each move to keep the grid alive.
See, plan, and clear
Move luminous signals through connected empty cells. Form horizontal, vertical, or diagonal lines of at least five matching signals to clear them. Incoming signals are visible before they spawn, so every turn gives you something to plan around.
When two different three-signal lines sit side by side, use Signal Fusion to convert their two signal types into another. Choose which line remains and use the built-in reference to explore the recipes.
Clearing lines charges eight Quantum actions: Purge, Warp, Retune, Stabilize, Discharge, Tunnel, Pulse, and Lance. Reshape a difficult board without advancing the move counter or summoning the next wave.
Find your next challenge
- Classic: survive an endless run and build your best score.
- Entangled Worlds: play across two connected worlds with one shared score. Clear lines in Home to charge a Jump, then swap adjacent signals in Parallel to create matches and cascades. Charge your return to clear space back home.
- Journey: progress through deterministic levels with focused objectives. Retry the same board and signal sequence to refine your approach.
- Daily Signal: return for a shared daily challenge with its own objective and deterministic sequence.
Later Journey levels and some Daily Signals introduce crystalline locks. Clear matching lines through frozen signals to crack their shells and free them.
Keep track of every move
Use one-step undo, review lifetime statistics, and compare eligible results on leaderboards.
On Reddit, Classic scores, Entangled Worlds scores, and Journey progression are verified by replay before entering their community leaderboards. Mobile leaderboards and achievements use Apple Game Center or Google Play Games. Each platform maintains its own records; this is not one shared cross-platform leaderboard.
Choose your signal style
Visual themes change the atmosphere without changing the rules. Signals use shapes as well as colors to help distinguish them.
The mobile versions support English, Belarusian, German, Spanish, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Japanese, Korean, Ukrainian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. The Reddit interface is currently in English.
Free to play
Lines Ahead is free to play with no advertising, energy system, or subscription. No separate Lines Ahead account is required.
Android and iPhone support offline core gameplay. Reddit play requires access to Reddit, and account-linked saves, online records, and purchases require a connection.
The optional one-time Theme Collection purchase unlocks every installed visual theme. It changes presentation only, with no effect on gameplay, balance, scoring, or competitive eligibility. Purchases are handled by the App Store, Google Play, or Reddit Gold and do not transfer between platforms.
Lines Ahead is made by a solo developer.
